Description
The Time to Restore project, led by the USA National Phenology Network and covering the states of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, seeks to generate better information about nectar availability and seed timing to help those working on pollinator restoration know what to plant and when to harvest seeds. The success of this project depends on involvement from the people who will use this information to improve pollinator restoration and conservation.
Help shape this important project! In this free, 2-hour virtual workshop, you will:
- Learn how the Time to Restore project is generating information about flowering and seed timing of nectar plants to inform those working on pollinator restoration about how flowering and seed timing may shift under future climate conditions.
- Help us select the best plant species to target for ongoing monitoring and assessment in Texas.
- Give your input on ways we can recruit and engage volunteer data collectors across Texas.
- Provide feedback on alternative ways to visualize and present the information collected as part of this project to those working on pollinator restoration and conservation.
This workshop will be led by David Gwin, Texas Coordinator for Time to Restore, and Erin Posthumus, Partnership and Projects Manager at the USA National Phenology Network. The workshop will include short presentations as well as opportunities to provide your input through activities, polls, and Q&A.
Who should attend? Anyone in Texas working on or interested in native plants and their respective pollinators and pollinator restoration and conservation in general.
