Excellent job presenting about the Water in Nature. I liked how foreign countries (e.g. Australia) have established new policies to conserve water. I also learned a lot on how places like Phoenix, AZ experience water droughts due to high temperatures during the summer time. Great in-depth overview! Thank you!

Just a comment: Data would help, but people have to have get on the same page in terms of understanding the implications of the data. There are many studies, for example, of the benefits of riparian areas. However, I have heard questions about how well they are accepted, and not only here in Arizona.

In addition to Arizona water laws, what is the importance of working with other western states and Mexico to maintain the health of the rivers and streams running through Arizona?

There was a relevant recommendation back in 2001 about looking into the implications of drilling wells close to specially mapped riparian areas. Did not get heard in the Legislature. Private property rights concerned and who bears the burden of studies.

I am concerned that the off-site mitigation designations made along the San Pedro River, which helped make growth and development possible in Arizona, will not be worth the paper they are written on if environmental flows are not maintained.
