NSURP Seminar #3 - Shared screen with speaker view
Being that fact that you are a Native woman how often would you find yourself fighting to prove that you just as capable as your counterparts? In my experience professors will either baby you because you are the only person of color or the only female in the class, or they will completely dismiss you because they don’t think you can be as educated or capable as the other students around you.
Thank you so much!
What does the location of anaerobic and aerobic microbes in the body tell us about the microbe? How is this information important?
Do you have any suggestions for students who are interested in doing research that benefit their communities without going through academia?
Thank you so much for this presentation! With your knowledge in the microbiology world, do you think a BS in Microbiology or a BS in Food science would provide more opportunities to become a Food microbiologist? Sorry I know it is very specific.
I did not always recognize micro aggressions when they occurred. As I pursue research, how can I address micro aggressions and/minority disparities in research without having degrees in disciplines other than biology? I hope that makes sense.
thank you so much for your time! I didn’t know how much I needed this talk today and I truly appreciate it!
How do you respond to people who say minorities have more opportunities than their white counter parts based on minority resources like scholarships and certain programs that help us?
Thank you for your answer!
